LOOKING FOR THE TRUTH about what governments, drugs companies and big business are doing
to our children? Don’t have enough time to go digging or searching
for those deeply-buried stories the media has little interest in reporting,
or those little nuggets of facts that someone, somewhere has a vested interest
in keeping you from finding? Then let avid researcher and consumer

most informed decisions about parenting today’s children.
Alternative Mental Health Directory

From the most severe and profound mental illness to simple seasonal depression, the vast majority of cases of mental illness can be corrected at the molecular/cellular level. It very much saddens me that more people are not aware that there is any hope for mental illness treatment other than medications which can have severe side-effects and minimal effectiveness. Most allopathic medical practitioners will not even hint to you that dietary habits or lack of nutrients have anything to do with mental health, for they do not know. They have been trained only to diagnosis disease and prescribe pharmaceutical drugs. Therefore, to get any treatment other than pharmaceuticals you have to go to “alternative” doctors. I hope you will help me spread the word, so that those affected with less than perfect mental health have the “informed” choices that have long been available but hidden from mainstream citizens. Below you will find various snippets from web sites and articles on the internet. Click the link above the quote to read more.
“Welcome to the world's largest site on non-drug approaches for mental health.” http://www.alternativementalhealth.com
“Thousands of people around the world have recovered from mental disorders and now enjoy the simple pleasures of a drug-free life. Most were told this was impossible. Yet we hear from these individuals regularly. Many others have been able to significantly reduce their dependency on psychiatric medication. Commonly these people find that underlying their "mental" disorders are medical problems, allergies, toxic conditions, nutritional imbalances, poor diets, lack of exercise, or other treatable physical conditions. Our site has testimonials, over 100 articles, and the Web's only directory of alternative mental health practitioners. You can also get information from our bookstore, support groups, email lists, and our free monthly newsletter. We hope you find the answers you have been looking for...”
Find an Alternative Mental Health Practitioner http://www.alternativementalhealth.com/directory/search.asp
“If you are unable to find a practitioner on our site, you can also go to http://www.acam.org, which lists alternative doctors. You can call them to find which, if any, deal with the mental symptoms you are interested in. An excellent source of referrals worldwide is at http://www.nutritional-healing.com.au/content/referrals.php. Another resource is http://ahha.org which lists many American non-MD alternative practitioners.”

Orthomolecular Psychiatry in Theory and Practice by Abram Hoffer, MD, PhD, Aug. 1977
http://www.lightparty.com/Health/ORTHO.html “The propositions basic to orthomolecular psychiatry are as follows: When the brain is biochemically disorganized, so is the mind. There is great interindividual variation in biochemical needs and metabolic processes. Some nutrient requirements, especially those for vitamins, may vary up to 100-fold between individuals.”
Nutrients Help Alleviate Mental Symptoms by William Walsh, Ph.D., 2002
http://www.wellbeingjournal.com/nutrients.htm “The Pfeiffer Treatment Center has amassed a large database of biochemical information from more than 10,000 patients with mental health problems. Examination of this data shows that most of these persons have striking abnormalities in specific nutrients required for neurotransmitter production. The most common chemical imbalances we encounter include the following:” Over-methylation, under-methylation, metal-metabolism, pyrrole disorder, glucose dyscontrol, toxic substances, malabsorption, and essential fatty acids. Each category contains a simple explanation of the biochemical defect, symptoms, effective drugs, and the biochemical treatment with nutritional supplements, plus those that must be avoided.
“For example, some depression patients have a genetic pyrrole disorder that renders them grossly depleted in vitamin B-6. A pyrrole is a basic chemical structure that is used in the formation of heme, which makes blood red. Pyrroles bind with B-6 and then with zinc, thus depleting these nutrients. These individuals cannot efficiently create serotonin (a neurotransmitter) since B-6 is an important factor in the last step of its synthesis. Many of these persons appear to benefit from Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft or other serotonin-enhancing medications. However, as with all mind-altering drugs, side effects occur and the true cause of the mental difficulties remains uncorrected. Similar - and more healthful - benefits can be achieved by simply giving these patients sufficient amounts of B-6 along with supporting nutrients.”

"William J. Walsh, Ph.D., is a scientist with more than 30 years of research experience. He founded the Health Research Institute in 1982, and the Pfeiffer Treatment Center, which has provided individualized nutrient therapy to more than 14,000 patients, in 1989. Dr. Walsh has authored more than 200 scientific articles and reports, and he presently serves as chief scientist of the Pfeiffer Treatment Center."
Niacin – Vitamin B3, Wonder Drug Article at www.newmediaexplorer.org, http://tinyurl.com/u22t5 “By 1960 my research group in Saskatchewan had discovered the first biochemical substance that was clearly related to the schizophrenias. Not knowing its structure we called it the mauve factor until it was later identified as kryptopyrrole. We tested thousands of patients and found that over 75% of all schizophrenic patients excreted this substance in their urine. It was also
present in about 25% of other psychiatric groups, in about 10% of severely stressed physically ill patients and in about 5% of normal people but they were mostly first order relatives of schizophrenic patients. It disappeared with recovery of the patients no matter how they were treated. I was particularly interested in the fact that out of eight patients with cancer of the lung this factor was present in 5.”
A man diagnosed with bronchiogenic carcinoma of the lung also had psychotic symptoms. “I then advised his resident to start him on niacin 1 gram after each meal and on ascorbic acid 1 gram after each meal. By then I knew that this combination of vitamins used in megadoses was very helpful in treating any patient with this factor in their urine no matter what they were diagnosed. Fortunately for this patient the resident accepted my advice … He was started on the two vitamins on Friday afternoon and he was mentally normal by the following Monday.”
Bipolar Affective Disorder (BAD) and the Stephan Family
http://truehope.com/_about/aboutus.asp Autumn’s Story: Beginning at age 12, Autumn began suffering the terrifying symptoms and deterioration from the inherited disorder BAD, until: “After threatening suicide, she was again hospitalized. Upon release, she was taking a pharmaceutical cocktail of Haldol, Rivotril, Ativan, Epival and Cogentin, a combination that failed to control her psychosis. She continued to rapid cycle. Told Autumn would require round-the-clock adult supervision, Dana took her to her father to begin the alternative treatment, which had helped Joseph. Within four days she was forced to eliminate Haldol and Rivotril because of the drastically increasing side effects. Ativan was no longer required when hallucinations ceased. After one week on the program, she returned home to her husband. Less than a month later, she reduced, then eliminated, the mood stabilizer Epival. Her only ‘medication’ now was the nutrient supplement which would become Empowerplus.”

ABOUT
THE AUTHOR
Karen Eck, MT (ASCP) is an avid researcher in the field of "alternative" science. Karen first became interested in the Indigo Children phenomenon when she received an email seeking contributors for Lee Carroll’s and Jan Tober’s book, The Indigo Children. Since the book was published with Karen’s contribution about a nutritional supplement called Smart Start (no longer being produced due to company mergers), Karen has counseled hundreds of parents about the many alternatives available for helping to keep their children off drugs such as Ritalin.
Karen obtained a 1974 BA from Marylhurst College in Portland, Oregon and a 1975 Medical Technology (ASCP) degree from St. Vincent’s School of Medical Technology, also in Portland. She spends many hours a week searching the Internet and subscribes to numerous Internet discussion groups and email newsletters to keep on top of the latest breaking and most cutting edge information - which you usually won't hear about in the mainstream news. While vested interests try to keep some information a secret, or attempt to veil its significance in negative spin, other individuals are working overtime to bring the light of advanced information to the world’s people. With a special place in her heart for parents seeking to be the best they can be for their children, Karen especially searches out information to help them achieve their quest.
