THE JOURNEY OUTREACH SOUTH AFRICA
Cellular Healing Using The Journey by Brandon Bays
by Jayshree Mannie
Ambassador: The Journey Outreach SA

THE JOURNEY IS A POWERFUL HEALING PROCESS developed by Brandon Bays, an international author and workshop leader who healed herself from a large uterine tumour without drugs or surgery. Knowing the scientific basis for cellular healing and having experienced it herself, Brandon’s own healing journey led her to seek and discover a way for others to undergo the same process she did. The Journey allows everyday people to access their own infinite potential - their body’s innate intelligence, clear out repressed traumatic cell memories, and leave the body free to regenerate healthily, wholesomely and naturally.
Since first introducing the Journey to the world, her book The Journey is now an international bestseller. Through the book and workshops in England, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, tens of thousands of people have discovered Journey process work and undergone their own healing journey. The miraculous results of their efforts have included recovery from cancer, arthritis, asthma, allergies, acne, sports injuries, Crohn¹s disease and more. In addition, the Journey has been hugely successful with emotional issues, supporting many people in healing from grief, loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, rage and addiction.
Today, the Journey is used in schools, hospitals and corporations as well as many healthcare practitioners in their own practices including medical doctors, alternative therapists, chiropractors, physiotherapists, massage therapists, nutritionists, psychiatrists, nurses, midwives and more.
The Journey in South Africa
South Africa is a country that was brought to its knees by apartheid. In no other country in the world has the International Journey Team met so many people who are so conscious of the pain and anger that exists in this country, and so willing and eager to heal that pain. The longing for freedom that has been expressed by so many courageous South Africans is what keeps calling Brandon and the Journey back to South Africa again and again and again.
The big hearts, great courage and plain hard work of South African Journey therapists (who have flown to the UK and Australia at their own expense to become accredited therapists) are magnanimous. Therefore, The Journey Outreach is a program that was born in this country and initiated by Jayshree Mannie, who was an educator with 12 years of teaching experience. We hope this will create a blueprint for Journey programmes around the world, especially in education.
The Journey Outreach Programme with AIDS Orphans in Alexandra
Portia is a Community Worker in Alexandra. She left an abusive relationship and found herself unemployed and without support. Despite not having enough food to feed herself, when a friend told her she had HIV AIDS, Portia helped to care for her and her children. Her friend died and the three children were orphaned. Realizing that this problem was larger than just this one family, Portia and other women started looking after HIV AIDS patients and orphans, caring for them and bringing them food.
They now run a day orphanage where children come to eat and play together once a week. There are 150 orphans who Portia works with directly, 250 children in the larger circle of influence, and altogether 500 children who they work with in some way or another. Portia says, “We don’t close doors to anyone.” When The Journey Outreach came to Alexandra to do a workshop with the kids, five hundred children attended, with parents and grandparents as well.
“Before the workshop, it was difficult to get the children to show up and participate in the activities at the orphanage. The kids had nothing to eat as we had no funds to feed them. Since doing the Journey, they just come and do everything by themselves. Families who never thought they could make anything of their lives now have the belief that they can.” At the orphanage, the children now express the creative potential that the Journey has helped them to realize they have inside them. They dance, sing and work together. When interviewed on SABC 3, Portia proudly shared that she now had over 200 children in her centre and that she is fondly known as MAMA PORTIA!
The above is an example of the work being done in communities who would otherwise not have had access to this invaluable training. Jayshree Mannie, the Ambassador for The Journey in South Africa, along with her dedicated team of voluntary Journey graduates, networks with numerous community organizations spanning the length and breadth of South Africa. Recently, through the dedication and commitment of one of our Journey graduates, Portia and her beautiful children are now guaranteed wholesome meals everyday! Portia and Alexandra are just one of the many heartfelt examples of the liberating power of the Journey work.
Journey in the Classroom
The Journey Pilot Programme in Schools in Kwa-Zulu Natal
The Journey Pilot Programme in Schools began with one school teacher in one school - Jayshree Manni. As a teacher, Jayshree knew that the children in her class could benefit from the Journey as much as she did. She developed a method for the whole class to undergo the Journey process one on one and in a group. Her love for children gave birth to an informal pilot study. She kept detailed notes on all the students in her classes. One class received a Journey process every week, one class received occasional Journeywork and the third class did not undergo any Journeywork at all.
The results were astounding! At the end of the year, the class who received no Journeywork at all was averaging a 67% pass rate. Those who underwent occasional Journeywork were averaging 76% pass rate and those who received regular journeys ¬once a week ¬were averaging an amazing 91 to 93 percent pass rate. By clearing out their emotional issues, the children had more energy and attention to let their own natural potential shine through, and it was reflecting in their academic results!
Since March 2004, forty school teachers from eight schools have attended a training programme to empower them to use the Journey in their classroom. The pilot schools represent a broad cross-section of South African children and are being undertaken in partnership with the Department of Education Kwazulu Natal. A statistician from the University of KZN, Dr. N. Gopal, will monitor and analyze the statistical results of the programme. If, at the end of year, the same or similar results are achieved in the pilot schools, the Minister has said that he hopes to implement the program in the whole of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
And it is not just about academic results. When we visited one of the Pilot Schools to meet the teachers who had begun the Journey training, the deputy principal began introducing us to some of the children whose progress they would be documenting. “This boy watched his dad being shot dead in front of him,” he said. “This girl was raped when she was nine. These twins are homeless.” The stories went on. The difference that the Journey can make to these children, helping them to clear out their pain and get on with their lives, is enormous.
And, seven weeks into the programme, the results thus far have been amazing! The educators are astounded at the power of The Journey in the classroom. “The learners are shining like diamonds!” said one teacher. Another went on to explain how deep emotions which were holding them back previously were being released which empowered the children and “made them feel lighter and happier”.
One courageous school invited all the parents to a school meeting to explain the programme in which the children would be involved. The educators decided to take the parents on a Journey! One hundred and twenty initially dubious parents went through a Journey group session. The educators were brought to their knees to see the pain in the parents themselves. Thirty minutes later, the understanding of the programme was clearer and the parents unanimously decided to “go for it!”.
To sum up the education programme, Sanelesiwe, a little girl of 9 said, “I want to help my country be a diamond because I am a diamond. See, I am shining!”
It is our fervent prayer that the Journey helps children liberate their shining potential across the globe! Hence, South Africa is creating a blueprint for the rest of the world.
As Brandon shares in her book:
“Come to the edge”, he said.
“We can’t, Master, we’re scared.”
“Come to the edge,” he said.
“We can’t, Master, we’re scared.”
“Come to the edge,” he said.
They came.
He pushed them…
They flew.
Freedom is our destiny.
Yet we fear taking the very step which will carry us
into the greatness which is our own true nature.
South Africa has been gifted with wings, and together, we are soaring to our destiny of greatness and boundless potential!
