Understanding
the Energy of Your Child - A Parent's Guide By Jennifer Crews, MA
Reviewed by Erin K. Allshouse
Everything is energy. Children see, interact,
feel and connect with energy first. They connect with the physical world second.
Children feel energetic shifts due to emotions, thoughts and feelings that are
being transmitted in a child’s surrounding environment even if the physical
environment does not change. These are some of the ideas author Jennifer Crews
shares in the release of her first book. Understanding the Energy of Your Child
– A Parents Guide is the first of its kind offering both a physical and
energetic perspective in how we connect with children and how to better understand
how children connect with their environment, parents, teachers and piers and
each other. The insightful guide provides seven core solutions along with easy
practical applications that you can start today to learn more about your child
or children you may care for. To

Kids series, children can enter the universe of words on their own level,
recognizing little by little the order of things, what things are called, how
they are used, and how they relate to one another. To

Bear’s New Year’s Party - A Counting Book By Paul Owen Lewis
Reviewed by Erin K. Allshouse
Mr. P. Bear, a dapper polar bear decides
to have an elegant New Year's party and invites all of his best-dressed animal
friends. You and your child can count his guests as they arrive. One whale comes
at one o’clock; two horses enter at two o’clock, three cows…
and so forth, until twelve tuxedoed penguins arrive at midnight. As each party
animal arrives, hour-by-hour, children learn to count and tell time. This very
simple picture book for young children does what a counting book ought to do:
it encourages children to count. While the arriving animals illustrate the numbers
quantitatively, a clock face on the lower left-hand side of the page shows the
time. To

Photos by Craig DeRoy
Reviewed by Erin K. Allshouse
If you think it's hard for grown-ups to
know what to do when everyday conflicts arise, you can imagine what it's like
for children, who are just learning how to communicate constructively with others.
That's why this book is so important. Through photographs and simple questions,
childhood development expert Barbara K. Polland portrays 14 common conflicts
(jealousy, hitting, and teasing among them) at home, at school, in the park
— plus 14 possible resolutions and 14 ways to celebrate success. To
