Guided
meditations are a wonderful way to calm the minds of these very high maintenance
children. It offers them a story form that keeps them interested and aware,
while allowing them the freedom to create their own experiences and stories.
The children are allowed to travel through the labyrinth of their minds to find
their own inner silence and truth which helps them not only relax and unwind,
but to live a life full of possibilities that they themselves have created.
The same meditation can be used everyday and the experience will be different
each time!
Come join us as we offer this next generation the opportunity
to create their own world and their own lives!
To set the scene, find
a quiet, comfortable space and time. Bedtime or afternoon nap is ideal. Keep
the lighting soft and still, play soft music if you wish and read out loud slowly.
Know that breathing is critical to relaxation, so remember to not only tell
your child to breathe, but to do so yourself! This is for you as well as for
them. For by helping ourselves, we help the children. And by helping the children,
we help the world.
Adventures in Stone
It is the dawn of a new day, a new day full of surprises and adventures! Travel with us as we go to the places your heart has always longed. Travel with us to the places beyond.
To begin, breathe in and when you do picture a beautiful white light coming down through the top of your head and out through the bottom of your feet. On the out breath breathe deep and let out all the bad air, the worry and fear of the day. Let the bottoms of your feet connect deep down into Mother Earth. You are grounded. You are here. You are safe. You are loved. It is ok to let go and know that you will be taken care of. All is well.
Let us begin.
Breathe in and as you do find yourself at the base of a huge cliff. The stone wall is behind your back as you look up you see the giant stone structure looms above. Somehow it frightens and comforts you at the same time. You are protected by its vastness and its strength. You feel loved. You are loved. Breathe and relax.
You stand up and begin to walk around. You find a path that leads into a crevice in this stone cliff. It is very narrow, but you feel compelled to look and see what is inside. You squeeze yourself in-between the stone walls and find yourself in darkness. There is a light up ahead, close enough for you to feel safe. You follow along the stone walls as the crevice gets wider and wider. Suddenly there is light all around you and you find yourself in a huge stone room. The walls rise up so high you can barely tell if there is a ceiling. The space goes on forever in either direction and below you lies a small running stream through the middle of this cosmos. You feel safe and you feel loved.
What do you see as you enter the room? What do you feel?
You feel a hand on your shoulder and turn to look. A guide is there to greet you. Who is it? Animal? Human? Angel? Does the guide have words for you?
The guide has something to show you. He/she leads you and you follow. Where do you go? How do you feel? What do you see?
As you travel, notice the patterns on the walls near you, on the rock floor below you, or written in the space above you. Notice them and as you go, notice if you see a pattern to the shapes and symbols. Follow them and the guide and see if you can get the message that lies written for you. Do you feel it? Can you read it? What does the message say?
Listen.
Your message received, your guide takes you on a turn into a corridor off the great room. Where does he lead you? What do you see? Feel? Hear?
Listen.
The guide takes you back to the great room and you go sit by the stream to rest. Do you drink the water? Do you bathe in it? Do you just rest by it? What does your guide do? Do other creatures join you? Does the water have messages? Look. Feel. Listen.
Your journey is done and you get up to leave, knowing that what was learned here shall stay with you upon your consciousness. You see the light in the crevice beckoning to you. You say good-bye to your guide and go toward the crevice out into the world you left behind.
As you pull yourself out of the crevice, you turn to look and see if the great room is visible through the stone space. But, the crevice is gone. All that remains is a piece of stone on the ground. This is your talisman to remind you of all that has happened. What is the shape of the stone? Is there anything written upon it? Is there meaning to it? What do you do with your stone?
You look up and see the sky before you. The world and your future lies ahead. You begin to walk into the light of the dawn of a new day refreshed and at ease. You are well. All is well. You are loved.
When you are ready, feel your feet upon this earth. Hear the sounds of this room and the sound of my voice and when you are ready, wiggle your fingers and your toes and open your eyes. You are loved. You are safe and all is well.
Record your experience.
